Encore vs Opus1
Encore runs the business side of a music studio: booking, billing, agreements and a portal for every family. Here's how it works, what we could verify against Opus1's own pages, and exactly what a move involves.

How it works
Opus1 also offers a family portal, messaging, room scheduling, online card payments and terms families sign when they book; the table below lists what we could verify.

Migration
Send us your Opus1 exports and we bring your families, students, enrollments and recurring charges across, build your timetable, check it against what you had, and agree a cutover date with you.
It's one fixed price: $297, one time, offered when you set up your studio. It isn't a subscription and you don't have to buy it. The spreadsheet import that comes with every plan is free.
$297 · one time
Payments
If your studio has its own Stripe account, connect it; otherwise create a new one. Families pay online by card, and tuition goes straight to that account, in your studio's name. Encore never holds it.
Encore takes 0% of tuition. Stripe's processing fee is the only deduction, and you pay it to Stripe.
0% of tuition to Encore
Families
Families log in to your branded portal to see upcoming lessons, pay invoices, e-sign agreements and message the studio.
Messages reach every family on every plan, with nothing to set up. Anyone who isn't in the portal gets an email.
Already text families from a business number? Connect that Twilio account and Encore texts through it. No add-on fee: you pay Twilio directly for what you send.
Messaging on every plan
In-home lessons
Set a buffer between each teacher's lessons, so the schedule leaves time to get across town.
On the Plus and Pro plans, Routing plans each teacher's day around students' addresses and travel time.
Teaching from a building instead? Rooms come with every plan, and a room can't be booked for two lessons at once.

Checked against Opus1

Making the switch
You pull the exports, and we do the rest with you, on a date you agree to.
Before you switch
Past lesson and attendance history stays in Opus1.
Opus1 exports your subscriptions, attendance, staff and transactions as CSV files. Those files are what we work from.
From our own migrations, not an Opus1 statement
You upload the files through a private link, never by email, along with a short worksheet listing your teachers.
Opus1 keeps its billing schedule on its own side, so recurring charges don't move by themselves. We rebuild each one from your subscriptions export, and build your timetable from the lessons already booked in Opus1.
From our own migrations, not an Opus1 statement
We verify the result against what you had and agree a cutover date with you.
