Paying an invoice
Updated Oct 9, 2026
For familiesWhen your studio sends you an invoice, you will get an email with a secure payment link. Payments go directly to your studio through their own payment account — Encore Studio is the software in between, not the merchant.
Two ways to pay
From the email — click the payment link. It opens a secure page showing the invoice; no login or account needed.
From the family portal — open Documents, find the invoice, and press Pay.
New invoices are due the day they are sent, so the page says Due upon receipt. If an invoice is still unpaid, your studio's reminders follow a few days after that.
Payment methods
Pay with a credit or debit card, or — where your studio offers it — straight from a US bank account. Payment details are handled by Stripe's secure checkout: your studio never sees your card number, and neither does Encore.
A bank payment takes a few business days to clear. Until it does, the payment page says your payment is on its way — you do not need to pay again.
Setting up automatic payments
If your studio offers automatic payments, the button on the payment link pays the invoice and sets up autopay for your monthly tuition, under terms printed right above it. Read those before you press it — see Paying your studio automatically for what they mean.
Paying from inside the family portal instead? There is a box to save your card with your studio for later. Ticking it does not sign you up for automatic payments.
After you pay
A receipt is emailed to you, if your studio sends them — and always for an automatic payment.
The invoice is marked paid once the full balance is covered; until then it shows the remaining balance due.
Your studio is notified that the payment came in.
If your studio refunds a payment, you are emailed when the refund is on its way. It can take 5–10 business days to reach your statement.
Questions about the amount?
Line items, discounts, any sales tax and any card processing fee are set by your studio. If something looks off, message your studio from the family portal before paying — they can adjust and resend.
